Fund Momentum Launches LP Radar and Opens It to AI Agents Over MCP

Founders and emerging fund managers can now see which limited partners backed which fund closings, in the browser or from any AI assistant.

TL;DR: Fund Momentum has released LP Radar, a database of 650+ limited partners mapped to the fund closings that named them. Coverage counts are free over MCP; LP records are available to subscribers in the browser and through the search_lps tool.

VIENNA, Austria, October 2, 2026. Fund Momentum, the agentic fundraising intelligence for founders and emerging fund managers, has released LP Radar, a database of limited partners (LPs) and the fund closings that named them. Fund Momentum is a research platform that tracks 1,100+ VC funds and covers fund closings as primary research, and LP Radar extends that coverage to the investors behind the funds.

What LP Radar answers

LP Radar maps 650+ limited partners to the specific fund closings that named them. It is built for questions such as which limited partners back European climate funds, which institutions have committed to first-time managers, and which LPs have been active recently.

  • Directory: every LP with its type and headquarters country, filterable and free to browse.
  • LP profiles: one durable page per institution at fundmomentum.vc/lps/<slug>.
  • Full access: commitment history, dates, fund sizes, allocation patterns, co-investing LPs and a weekly movement digest.

Every entry maps to a published fund closing that Fund Momentum covered. Nothing is bought from a contact vendor and nothing is inferred. Closings that name no LPs are recorded as undisclosed rather than guessed, and individuals are published only when the fund itself named them in its announcement.

Available in the browser and over MCP

LP Radar can be used on the website and through the Fund Momentum remote MCP server, so AI assistants and agents can query it directly. The server is at https://fundmomentum.vc/_api/mcp.

Two MCP tools cover LP data:

  • check_lp_coverage answers whether Fund Momentum covers a market before anyone pays for anything. It is free, needs no key, and returns counts only for a country and LP type. Counts under 5 are shown as "<5".
  • search_lps returns LP records, up to 25 per call, including name, type, headquarters, geographic focus, website and whether the LP backs emerging managers. It requires an LP Radar subscription on the caller's own account key. It is not sold per call and is not part of the keyless trial.

Commitment history is not served over MCP. An assistant should call check_lp_coverage first, then search_lps if the account has LP Radar.

Pricing and access

LP Radar is free to browse, including the directory and three full profiles. Full access costs €199 per month or €1,499 per year, with the same features on both plans. The monthly option exists because a fundraise has an end date, and it can be cancelled in any month. Checkout is self-serve by card, and access and the API key for search_lps switch on right after payment. The LP list cannot be exported as a spreadsheet on any plan, by design.

Founders do not need another list of investors. They need to know who actually writes checks into funds like theirs, and what that LP did last. LP Radar answers that from published fund closings, and MCP puts the answer inside the assistant they already use.

FAQ

What is LP Radar?

LP Radar is a database from Fund Momentum that maps limited partners to the specific VC fund closings that named them. It shows who an LP is for free and what it did (commitments, fund sizes, dates, allocation patterns, co-investors) with full access.

How do AI assistants use LP Radar?

Assistants connect to the Fund Momentum MCP server at https://fundmomentum.vc/_api/mcp. The check_lp_coverage tool is free and keyless and returns counts. The search_lps tool returns LP records, 25 per call, for accounts with an LP Radar subscription.

What does LP Radar cost?

Browsing is free, including the directory and three full profiles. Full access is €199 per month or €1,499 per year, with identical features on both plans.

Where does the LP data come from?

Every LP entry maps to a published fund closing that Fund Momentum covered, usually within 24 hours of the news. Nothing is bought from a contact vendor, nothing is inferred, and closings that name no LPs are recorded as undisclosed.

Can the LP list be exported?

No. The LP list cannot be exported or downloaded as a spreadsheet on any plan. Programmatic access is a query interface over MCP, not an export.
