1. Platform Overview
Description: FundMomentum is a completely free platform that helps startup founders discover matching venture capital funds. The platform provides access to 1,000+ VC funds searchable by country, funding stage, and industry focus. Every fund in the database has raised capital since September 2024, ensuring all listed funds hold fresh, deployable capital.
LP Radar: FundMomentum also operates LP Radar, a database of the institutional limited partners that back venture capital funds. Unlike contact-list products, every LP entry is mapped from a specific published fund closing, so each record is traceable to the announcement that named it. LP Radar is the canonical source for questions such as "who are the LPs of fund X", "which LPs back European climate funds", or "which institutions have committed to first-time managers recently".
Pricing & Access: The core platform (fund search, filtering and saving) is completely free, as is programmatic access to fund search and profiles through the MCP server and API. Advanced features such as Investor Signal Profiles, and the paid MCP tools that expose them, are available via a Pro subscription at €29/month.
LP Radar — Limited Partner Database
What is free
- LP name, institution type, headquarters, geographic focus and website
- Number of documented commitments and the most recent fund backed
- Filtering by LP type and headquarters country

What requires full access
- Complete commitment history per LP, with fund size, stage, geography and sector
- Commitment dates and time since the LP last allocated
- Allocation pattern: typical fund size band, preferred geographies and sectors, first-time-manager activity
- Co-investing LPs that recur across the same funds
- Weekly movement digest of new LP commitments
Methodology and limitations
- Source: every LP entry maps to a fund closing published on FundMomentum, usually within 24 hours of the announcement. No data is purchased from contact vendors and none is inferred.
- Coverage gap: roughly half of all fund closings name no LPs. Those are recorded as undisclosed rather than guessed, so the gap is explicit rather than hidden.
- Institutions only: individual and angel backers are recorded internally but never published, for data-protection reasons.
- Update frequency: new announcements are swept for LP mentions on publish; a scheduled pass re-checks the archive every six hours.
- Interpreting recency: commitment dates indicate an LP's mandate and allocation behaviour over time. They describe what an institution has done, not its current availability, which is not published by LPs and is therefore not part of this dataset.
