The short version: Fund Momentum is a live intelligence layer for venture capital. We track 970+ actively deploying VC funds — all of them raised capital since September 2024 — and we publish verified GP intelligence that founders can actually use when they're raising.

Why we built this

Most VC databases are graveyard tours. They list funds that closed three years ago, GPs who moved on, and investment theses that haven't been updated since the fund stopped deploying. Founders spend weeks building target lists from these sources, pitch 40 investors, and discover that half of them aren't writing checks anymore. Nobody tells you that.

Fund Momentum started as a personal tool to track which funds were actually active. It grew into a platform because the problem turned out to be universal: founders everywhere are pitching into the dark, and the information asymmetry is entirely in favour of the investors who already know each other.

What's on the platform

970+ active funds. Every fund on the platform raised capital since September 2024. That's the filter. If a fund hasn't closed new capital in the last 18 months, it's not on Fund Momentum. Stale funds waste founders' time, and we won't list them.

GP Signal Profiles. Beyond the basics — fund size, check size, stage — we extract how each GP actually thinks. That means thesis tags, bullish signals (what they're excited about right now), contrarian signals (where they're betting against the consensus), and a Founder Dos & Don'ts playbook for each fund. This is built from primary research: GP blog posts, fund websites, LinkedIn, published interviews. Not scraped summaries. Actual intelligence.

Deployment scores. A fund being "active" doesn't mean they're writing checks this quarter. We track deployment signals — portfolio velocity, recent announcements, LP updates where public — and score each fund's current deployment activity. You want to know who's actually moving right now, not who raised capital 18 months ago and has been sitting on it.

The FM15. Every six months we publish the FM15: a ranking of the 15 best emerging VC managers, scored on four dimensions — LP Trust Signal, Early Track Record, Thesis Sharpness, and Founder Alignment. No fund size sorting. No paid inclusion. Primary research only. Refactor Capital leads the H1 2026 edition with a score of 24 out of 27. The full ranking is at fundmomentum.vc/fm15-2026.

MCP Server. This month we shipped an MCP Server, which means you can connect Fund Momentum directly to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible AI assistant. Ask in plain language: "Which seed funds in DACH are deploying right now and invest in B2B SaaS?" Your AI queries our live database and answers directly. What's different

There are other VC databases. What's different about Fund Momentum is the filter and the depth. The filter: only funds that raised since September 2024. The depth: GP-level intelligence that tells you how to pitch, not just who to pitch. Most databases stop at fund size and portfolio. We go to thesis, signals, and founder-specific playbooks because those are the things that actually change your pitch success rate.

The MCP integration is also genuinely new. Fund Momentum is the first VC intelligence platform with a live MCP server. That means the platform is natively queryable by AI agents, which matters increasingly as founders and operators use AI for research.
